     Urban and other settlements cover 859.7 thousand hectares or 0.5 percentage of the total area. In cities, villages and other settlements respectively include 79.3 thousand hectares or 9.2 percentage of construction area, 322.8 thousand hectares or 37.5 percentage of public lands, 44.9 thousand hectares or 5.2 percentage of industrial lands, 333.4 thousand hectares or 38.8 percentage of mining lands, 79.3 thousand hectares or 9.2 percentage of ger district (Figure 1).

              According to the 2018 report, the area of ​​ger districts increased by 4.5 thousand hectares due to the allocation of new land to Mongolian citizens for family use in the capital city and rural areas. In the reporting year, the mining area increased by 14.4 thousand hectares due to an increase of 45.0 thousand hectares in Dornogovi aimag, and from 174.2 hectares to 4087.3 hectares in Bayankhongor, Dornod, Dundgovi, Zavkhan, Umnugovi, Selenge and Tuv aimags.

  Based on the mineral resources discovered in the territories of the above aimags, based on the mining licenses issued by the professional authorities, in 2018, a decision was made and a contract was signed for the mining companies to operate for mining purposes.

            The factory area increased by 821.9 hectares nationwide and decreased by 71.5 hectares. The size of the factory was reduced by 24.4 hectares in Bayan-Ulgii aimag due to the introduction of the Land Cadastre Land Manager software and the information discrepancies in the aimag were reflected in the State Register. In Matad soum of Dornod aimag, 9 hectares of land allocated for industrial purposes were cancelled and transferred to the category of agricultural land. In Dornogovi aimag, 41.5 hectares of industrial land were cancelled and transferred to other categories.
