CAPACITY BUILDING TRAINING FOR AIMAG AND CAPITAL CITY GEODESY AND CARTOGRAPHY SPECIALISTS WAS HELD

The Agency for Land Administration and Management, Geodesy and Cartography has announced 2022 as the year to train the staff of the Aimag Department of Land Affairs, Construction and Urban Development and soum land officers, strengthen their capacity and intensify e-transition.

Within the framework of this work, 21 aimag and capital city land management specialists were provided with professional and methodological advice on how to implement the Law on Geodesy and Cartography and related rules and regulations at the local level, and skills training and capacity building were organized.

A.Enkhmanlai, ALAGAC: We are working to submit to the Parliament and the Cabinet for approval the Land Law, the revised Law on Geodesy and Cartography, and the Law on Spatial Data Infrastructure. He said that when these laws are amended and implemented, industry professionals must be professional, competent and ready.

The training will be held for 4 days and will cover geodesy, cartography, spatial data infrastructure, operation, structure, organization, data collection and processing of “Geoportal” online system.

The training covered the work to be done in the field of geodesy and cartography in the capital city and local areas in 2022, Mongolia's location, elevation network, permanent geodetic point, sign preservation and protection, geographical name, topography, engineering infrastructure map and information update, newly approved norms and rules increase.

During the spatial data infrastructure training, specialists will get acquainted with the working principles of the “Geoportal” online system, 18 sets of spatial data standards / MNS 6925-1-18 /, and will be able to prepare, enter and edit data according to them.
