Training on land management planning was organized

#EasternSteppeProject and the Department of Land Management, Geodesy and Cartography are organizing a series of training to update the aimag and soum land management planning methodology in line with international trends and to introduce this methodology nationwide.
As a result of this series of training, the participants will be able to assess and map land degradation, calculate greenhouse gas emissions, protect biodiversity, conduct monitoring and evaluation with respective indicators and plan related measures to adapt to climate change. Participants were introduced to the World Overview of Conservation Approaches and Technologies (WOCAT), which is global network on Sustainable Land Management (SLM) that promotes the documentation, sharing and use of knowledge to support adaptation, innovation and decision-making in SLM.
The training was attended by officials from the Land Affairs, Construction and Urban Development Departments of Khentii, Dornod, Sukhbaatar and Selenge aimags, as well as land officers and professional land organizations from the respective soums.
