WITH THE REVISION OF THE LAW ON GEODESY AND CARTOGRAPHY, MORE THAN 30 TYPES OF GEODETIC AND CARTOGRAPHIC ACTIVITIES WILL BE IMPLEMENTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MARKET LEGAL ENVIRONMENT.

In connection with the upcoming submission of the revised draft of the Law on Geodesy and Cartography to the Government of Mongolia, the leadership of the Ministry of Construction and Urban Development and the Agency for the Land Administration and Management, Geodesy and Cartography met today with representatives of the Mongolian Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography Association.

During the meeting, the revised draft of the Law on Geodesy and Cartography will be submitted to the Government in the near future, and the issue of licensing geodetic and cartographic activities will be included in the new draft Law on Permits. Discussions and exchanged views on issues such as harmonizing the revised version of the Law on Geodesy and Cartography with the revised draft law.

Also, they talked about paying attention to include the state budget "since 2017, mapping 55% of Mongolia's territory with 1: 25000 scale topographic maps, updating the geodetic network, clarifying geographical names, checking state borders, and mapping major geodetic and cartographic projects and programs approved by the feasibility study".

The Ministry and the agency have been instructed to study the feasibility of centralizing geodesy and cartography in the Ministry of Construction and Urban Development, licensing activities, and transferring training for qualified and consulting engineers to the Mongolian Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography Association.

Today's meeting was attended by B.Munkhbaatar, Minister of Construction and Urban Development, S.Magnaisuren, State Secretary, A.Enkhmanlai, Director of the Agency for the Land Administration and Management, Geodesy and Cartography, D.Munkhtsetseg, Head of the Geodesy and Cartography Department and O.Khosbayar, Head of the Mongolian Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography Association, CEO A.Dolgorsuren participated.
